The April 3 earthquake in Taiwan may also restrict the supply of semiconductors available globally, allowing Samsung to increase prices even more.
Major chipmakers such as TSMC, a supplier to Nvidia and Apple, are based in Taiwan.
Although TSMC claims the earthquake had little effect on its output, it did create some operational disruptions.
Sales of Samsung’s newly released flagship Galaxy S24 smartphones, which were introduced in January, are also anticipated to increase.
