“It enters the system after you are validated, and you are unable to access it again. You are welcome to give it a try during this election. Naturally, it will be considered an electoral offense,” said Jean Mensa, chair of the EC, expressing confidence in the new framework.
Nana Akomea, however, has urged the EC to reconsider their choice, stating that while this is a commendable initiative, it is wise to consider the advantages and disadvantages to make sure the system is impenetrable.
He went on to say that since machines are not perfect, he questioned the EC authentication system’s level of dependability.
“These aren’t humans—these are machines. It could malfunction at any time.They should exercise caution if the EC declares that it won’t employ Indian ink once more.During Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo,” he said, “You can’t rely on them (machines) 100%,” and they must consult with all the stakeholders for them to agree to the arrangements.
