Theresa Kuffuor

Before being married in 1962, the couple started dating after meeting at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in London in 1961.

Theresa, whose last name was Mensah until she took on her husband’s, was a nurse and midwife before to becoming the First Lady.

In the government’s white paper on educational reforms, which aimed to execute the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) program, she is also recognized for advocating for policy improvements.

Before relocating to London and training as a Registered General Nurse at the Southern Hospital Group of Nursing in Edinburgh, Scotland, Theresa attended the Catholic Convent, OLA, in Keta, in the Volta Region.

She completed her education at Paddington General Hospital in London and the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, where she was awarded a State Certified Midwife Certificate in Premature Nursing.

E.T. Mensah: Enoch Teye Mensah served as the Greater Accra Region’s Ningo Prampram MP for a number of years. After a brief illness, he passed away in South Africa.
