Throughout the year, there have been many deaths in Ghana’s political and judicial scene; yet, October has been one of the saddest months due to the deaths of several well-known citizens.

More than five notable figures who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Ghana’s 4th Republic have passed away this month.

At Pulse Ghana, we looked at a few of these brave people who lost their lives in October 2023.

Theresa Kufour: Following a brief illness in Accra, the former president of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufour’s wife, passed away on October 1. From 2001 to 2009, Theresa Kufuor held the position of First Lady of Ghana while her husband was the Head of State.

J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, Saah Kufuor, Agyekum Kufuor, and Owusu Afriyie Kufuor are the five children that John and Theresa were fortunate enough to have. They’ve got eight grandchildren as well.
