The University of Ghana appointed Dr. Ben Sarkodie as its first Associate Professor of Interventional Radiology.

When he assumed the positions of Medical Director at Euracare Advanced Diagnostics & Heart Center in 2020 and Head of Radiology in 2016, his knowledge and leadership abilities were further acknowledged.

His academic career has been equally distinguished; he has served as an external examiner at several Ghanaian universities since 2018 and has been a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School since 2020.

 

Dr. Sarkodie is a highly esteemed member and fellow of numerous esteemed medical associations, including the West African College of Surgeons and the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. Since 2010, he has held a certification from the United States’ Educational Commission on Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Dr. Sarkodie continues to train interventional radiologists in Ghana and the sub-region in order to meet the increased demand for people and capability, working with important stakeholders, including the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.

The appointment of Dr. Sarkodie as an Associate Professor of Interventional Radiology by the University of Ghana Medical School is a mark of his commitment, knowledge, and achievements to the radiology community in Ghana and around the world.

In addition to being a major step forward for Dr. Sarkodie personally, this appointment marks a major advancement in Ghanaian medical education and healthcare services.

At the moment, he serves as the Ghana Association of Radiologists’ vice president.
