Anas responds to the viral footage from 2019 that purportedly shows him’stealing’ land in Tse Ado

Following the publication of the Galamsey Economy exposé, which aimed to highlight the systemic corruption undermining Ghana’s economy and investor confidence, some people have turned to defamation and fabrication against Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the CEO of Tiger Eye PI.

On social media and other messaging services, a video with recycled allegations from 2018 has gone viral. The following is a response from Tiger Eye to the information in the aforementioned video, which we have repeatedly denied.

Tiger Eye PI denies all of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ accusations, including those of extortion and blackmail. These accusations lack any basis in truth and are made up and fictitious.

Tiger Eye PI points out that these are pranks used by corrupt individuals and their allies to draw attention away from the details of our recent exposé. It also begs the question of why such claims only come to light during an exposé.

In the aforementioned video, Mrs. Kwesi Nyantakyi is seen and heard, sometime in 2018, on Metro TV, complaining that someone had allegedly approached her husband about paying a sum of money ($100,000) to have the #12 exposé dropped.

Initially, Anas Aremeyaw made this accusation. If they believe their stale allegation is true, Anas dared Mr. Nyantakyi and his wife to file a lawsuit against him or whoever they are accusing of doing, or to report that person to the police for extortion (https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Sue-me-for-extortion-blackmail-if-I-asked-for-100k-bribe-Ana However, it’s crucial to remember that neither she nor the proponents of the accusation name any specific individuals.

Mr. Nyantakyi is currently being tried for fraud and corruption. If this accusation were accurate, it would be ludicrous for him to refuse to take any action to bring whoever demanded bribes before the law, especially given that Tiger Eye’s anti-corruption efforts had cost him his job.
