Anas responds to the viral footage from 2019 that purportedly shows him’stealing’ land in Tse Ado

The pertinent passage was as follows: “In the video, a man with cornrows who someone else claimed to be Anas was accused of snatching up land. We want to reiterate this for humanitarian reasons: disseminating recordings of people and labelling them as ANAS could put innocent people in danger since they might be mistaken for the people in the videos and be targeted as a result.

We also want to make it clear that Tiger Eye CEO Anas Aremeyaw Anas has never forcibly or illegally evicted someone from their land and hasn’t engaged in the altercation that has been suggested. He has not been convicted of unlawful land expropriation by any court.

 

Regarding the popular video

In the aforementioned video, several individuals are seen approaching a man with plaited hair in Tse Ado, an Accra suburb, whom they claim to be Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

One of the men describes how the’supposed’ Anas was attempting to get rid of land they had lawfully obtained in a loud running commentary on the situation.

He asserts that “Anas” had revealed his name to them, which is why they chose to expose him for the crime he was committing.

While this is happening, “Anas” can be heard conversing in Hausa with the aggressors.
