Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said that his mother passed away as a result of the threats made against him by the brother of a fellow politician.
He claimed that since he entered politics, his mother had been subjected to taunts and threats that she was unable to handle. He also claimed that she had begged him on numerous occasions to leave politics, but he had refused.
He claimed, “My mother passed away as a result of threats against me.”
“My mother couldn’t handle it when Hon. Collins Dauda’s brother threatened to kill me. She passed away on November 13th. I saw her the week before she passed away, and she begged me to put politics aside, saying: Kwame, you’re going to kill me. That was on a Thursday, I departed for Kumasi on a Friday, and on my way back to Accra on a Sunday afternoon, I received the tragic news that my mother had passed away. In an interview with Citi TV, he stated, “I was told she was shouting my heart, my heart, and Kwame you will kill me.
The independent MP claimed that he was still struggling with his mother’s passing.
