In a related note, should John Mahama prevail in the general elections of 2024, he has pledged to revisit the 10% bet tax.
As part of his “Building Ghana Tour” across the Bono East area, Mahama said this to the young at Techiman Timber Market and Techiman Magazine.
“I’ve heard a lot of young people discuss sports betting. When it comes to government, we will consider the total amount of taxes levied by the current administration, not simply the taxes on gambling, according to Hama.
The Ghana Revenue Authority formally imposed a 10% withholding tax on all wagers, games, and lottery winnings on August 15, 2023.
