The Vice President’s team contends that these rumors and accusations are completely false and untrue.

According to a statement from Dr. Gideon Boako, an assistant to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, “We notice that the same narrative has been copied by some people and groups in Ghana on social media.”

He stated, “For the avoidance of doubt, the Bawumia Campaign has no funding or any linkage with any Islamic group in Nigeria or anywhere else. This narrative is obviously false, fabricated, and only serves the propaganda purposes of its promoters.”

A Nigerian journalist named David Humdeyin made the initial accusations, claiming that the organization known as ACF was sending money to Ghana to support the vice president’s campaign.
