Akufo-Addo establishes a committee to examine the benefits and advantages enjoyed by those holding positions under Article 71.

According to President Akufo-Addo, “it might well be that your work should also focus on these concerns and make recommendations on how they should be addressed” in light of the difficulties currently affecting our nation’s economy.

The creation of this committee represents a significant step in resolving concerns regarding the compensation of public officials in Ghana, particularly those who hold positions covered by Article 71.

The President, Vice President, Members of Parliament, Speaker of Parliament, Ministers of State, and other senior government officials are among these individuals.

The committee’s members offer a plethora of knowledge and experience:

Dr. Janet Fofie (Chairperson): Dr. Janet Fofie, a former chair of the Public Services Commission, is expected to direct the committee’s discussions using her extensive expertise of public service administration.

Prof. Gyan Baffour (Member): Due to his academic training and government experience, Prof. Baffour is a significant resource in debates about pay and benefits.

The member, Dr. Osei-Akoto:Dr. Osei-Akoto is qualified to examine the financial effects of public officials’ remuneration and privileges due to her experience in economics.

Gloria Ofori Buodu (Member): Madam Buodu contributes her knowledge and expertise in public administration and governance as a member of the committee.

Ben Arthur, Mr. (Member):Mr. Arthur, who has experience in the public sector, brings a vital viewpoint to the debate over pay and privileges.
