Following accusations of a money-doubling scheme made against her by certain members of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, the Police have detained Patricia Asiedu, also known as Nana Agradaa.
The suspect is now helping the police with their investigation.
Earlier on Saturday, videos of irate members of the “Nana Agradaa” church accusing their pastor of defrauding them were all over social media.
“Anyone who is a victim of the suspected money doubling fraud should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action and to assist in the investigation,” the police stated in a statement on October 9, 2022.
The resentful churchgoers claim that Nana Agradaa promised to quadruple their money through her unique spiritual endowments, and that 5000 churchgoers were duped as a result of her fraud.
The affected followers claimed Nana Agradaa persuaded them to donate her various quantities in the hope of multiplying their results. However, their hopes were dashed when Nana Agradaa vanished without a trace.
