Judge in the COCOBOD case denies the plea to reopen the Opuni trial from Honyenuga’s proceedings.

Additionally, Justice Anokye Gyimah emphasized that the court should not disregard the presumption of innocent and that an accused person is legally entitled to fairness.

The trial will begin “de novo,” the court declared, in order to properly assess the situation and avoid inheriting the accusations that have plagued the previous court.

The prosecution has been ordered to file their witness testimony on or before April 21, according to EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent Murtala Inusah, who was present in court.

As a result, the defense is instructed to file any witness statements that day.

The court mandated that the parties come back in for a case management conference and potential trial start date on April 25.
