Martin Amidu, a former special prosecutor, claims that because of his recent criticism of the government, those in positions of authority authorized agents to hurt him on Monday at his home.
He claims that ever since he was fired from his position as the special prosecutor, the government has been relentlessly attacking him.
The late Victor Newman, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), even intervened to thwart efforts to assassinate the former attorney general and minister of justice, the former attorney general and minister of justice said in a statement copied to the media.
Since November 16, 2020, I have experienced assassination, armed robbery, and house fire threats from this administration. The plans to murder me back then were abandoned by the late Victor Newman.
“These threats increase every time I exercise my freedom to defend the Constitution, as I recently did on June 28 and June 30, which led to a covert attack on my home yesterday, July 3, 2023, at 2:15 a.m.
