In order to learn, students at the D/A primary school in Klamadaboe, a village close to Torgome in the North Tongu constituency in the Volta region, everyday risk their lives.
The classroom was built in an effort to make education more accessible to kids, but when Kojo Emmanuel visited the town, the school’s history was quite different.
The school building, which has not undergone any significant renovations, deteriorated after the roofing was removed and is now a death trap.
Teachers are compelled to quickly interrupt lessons whenever it begins to rain because of the dilapidated condition of the school building and its ruined roofing.
