According to Treasury officials, the passing of this memorandum was made possible by the Windsor Framework’s acceptance. This is positive for more focused work on some of the unresolved post-Brexit arrangements, especially the tighter rules of origin that are anticipated to be put in place for automakers.
It is unlikely to have a significant impact on financial services anytime soon, though, in reality. Before the next election, there are probably only three more forums.
