Randy Abbey is furious that domestic bondholders do not appear to receive the same respect and dignity as holders of overseas debt.

Randy Abbey complained on his show on January 11 that those responsible for Ghana’s economic collapse are unwilling to come down from their perches and engage in dialogue with the bondholders.

He claimed that the final decision did not take into account the opinions of the bondholders voiced through the banks and other financial entities that manage the bonds.

“There was a three-man committee that was intended to consult with interested parties; when you speak with them, they claim that the decision did not reflect what they suggested. No one ever learns.

“People don’t want to leave their high places, despite the fact that they have led our nation into the kind of catastrophe that we are currently in. They are still acting independently and perched atop some flimsy ivory tower, he claimed.
