Background
After the nurse allegedly called Mr. Poku Mensah’s daughter on the phone to inform her about the need for her to return to the facility in order to update a patient’s record on the hospital’s patient management system, the regional NSS director reportedly stormed the hospital with his daughter in tow and accused the said nurse.
In an argument with the nurse, Mr. Poku Mensah is overheard aggressively assaulting her, praising his position, and threatening to have the nurse removed from the hospital.
“Come and tell me if she does anything; I’ll do all in my power to get her out of here. I’ve already identified myself; I’m the Regional Director for the National Service “One can hear Mr. Opoku yelling at the nurse.
The nurse is overheard responding, “Also familiar with me? Do you recognise my dad?” Mr. Opoku responded angrily, calling the man a fool and asking, “Does the work belong to your father?”
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has demanded that Mr. Alex Poku be removed from his position.
The group claims that the Regional NSS Director at the Manhyia Hospital is unsuited for the role due to his behaviour.
