However, the nurse called the doctor to ask him to erase the IV fluid from the system because it wasn’t available, saving the hospital from having to charge for it.
The Manhyia District hospital’s purported miscommunication between a doctor and a nurse on November 27, 2022, has come to the notice of the Junior Doctors Association.
“While we do not support the father’s actions, it is critical to correct the record regarding the fabrication that is being spread to cast doubt on the doctor’s professional ability.
“On the disputed day, the doctor did not examine any children on the surgical ward. The doctor could not have prescribed a faulty dosage on the specified day because she did not write a prescription for a youngster. An adult patient on the surgical ward was given the appropriate intravenous fluid prescription by the doctor.
“The nurse called the doctor to ask him to erase the prescription intravenous fluid from the system in order to prevent additional charges due to its unavailability.
The statement read, “According to hospital administration and records accessible, the allegation concerning a purported erroneous prescription on social media, radio, and TV stations is untrue.”
