Finally cancelling the certificates of 17 political parties with no local, state, or federal
The parties the EC said flouted the registrations rules.
The registration of about 17 political parties in the nation had previously been given notice by the EC to cancel it.
These political parties, according to the EC, do not have offices at the national and regional levels, as required under section 15 (1). (Act 574).
The EC conducted a statewide effort to check the offices of all Ghanaian political parties that had been registered between May and June 2022.
The General Public is hereby informed that the Registration Certificates of the under-listed Political Parties have been cancelled in accordance with Section 15 (3) (c) of the Political Parties Law, 2000 (Act 574) effective the first day of November 2022, according to a notice signed and issued by the Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa, and published on Monday, November 14, 2022.
