Therefore, the names of the aforementioned entities have been struck from the list of political parties in Ghana, the statement continued.
Following the exercise, the EC acted under the authority of Section 15(3)(c) of the Political Parties Act of 2000, Act 574, which requires it to revoke the registration of political parties that lack offices at the national and regional levels.
Below is the list of the political parties affected:
- Democratic Freedom Party (DFP)
- Democratic People’s Party (DPP)
- Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere (EGLE)
- Ghana Democratic-Republican Party (GDRP)
- Ghana National Party (GNP)
- National Reform Party (NRP)
- New Vision Party (NVP)
- People’s Action Party (PAP)
- Power Unity Party (PUP)
- Reform Patriotic Democrats (RPD)
- United Development System Party (UDSP)
- United Front Party (UFP)
