In a huge win for organized labor in the US, Volkswagen employees have decided to join the United Autoworkers Union (UAW).
However, perceptions of organized labor seem to be changing.
Since the outbreak, there has been a surge in strikes and unionization petitions in the US, attracting workers from many industries, such as college basketball players, tech contractors, Hollywood actors, and Starbucks baristas.
The union will now represent employees in Chattanooga, the only VW factory in the United States, in collective bargaining over matters like wages and working conditions.
