Over 500 shoemakers in Ghana will be empowered thanks to a partnership between Access Bank Ghana and Horseman Shoes, an indigenous shoe manufacturer.
According to a bank statement, workshops, SME engagement sessions, access to financing, and other specially designed initiatives will be among the non-financial and financial help methods used to empower the craftspeople.
The cooperation aims to develop local shoe artisans, especially in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, by offering training and resources so they can compete on a worldwide scale.
Through its “Sandal More for a Better Tomorrow” campaign, which distributes free shoes to children, the partnership would also address issues like empowering the shoemaking industry, creating employment possibilities, and boosting capacity in their profession.
Group Head of Business Banking at Access Bank Ghana, Kafui Bimpe, stated: “We at Access Bank are strong believers in the ability of cooperation to bring about great change in our communities. Sandal More for a Better Tomorrow is a project that embodies our commitment to sustainability and improving the community.
He declared, “This partnership not only demonstrates our dedication to the regional shoe industry, but it also strengthens our standing as our stakeholders’ first choice for financial support.”
