During a significant outage at parent company Meta on Wednesday, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp all momentarily stopped operating.

of app users complained about having trouble accessing the three websites in the evening, and many of them vented their frustrations on other social media platforms.

A later update on Meta’s status page said that most problems had been fixed. An inquiry for comment from the corporation has not yet received a response.

On Wednesday, issues started at 18:00 BST (14:00 EST).

Around 82,000 problems with WhatsApp were reported by the UK website Downdetector, which tracks website performance, at 18:25. However, an hour later, the problem seems to have been mostly fixed.

At 18:20, 3,700 outages were reported by users on Instagram, and those figures remained high for a few hours.

Similar to this, 1,840 outages were reported on Facebook around 18:23, prompting people to report problems at the same moment.
