The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has come under fire from Kwame Owusu, the national campaign coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong’s quest for the party’s flagbearership, for allegedly fabricating and spreading false information.
Kennedy Agyapong was supposed to have received information from Owusu on the circumstances up to his outburst against the President and Vice President, according to Wontumi.
However, in response to Wontumi’s charges, Owusu stated in an interview on Neat FM on August 28, 2023, that the claims were untrue and that the situation had been misconstrued.
“It couldn’t have been that I reported the problem if he overheard me talking on the phone. He may not have understood what I was saying because of his limited command of English.
“I was advising my agent in the North East not to sign the sheet due to some events,” the author said. Instead of holding the election outside as planned, they did it indoors. Wontumi’s jokes are therefore useless. The regional chairman is a clown, said Owusu.
He continued by saying that his conversation with his agent had nothing to do with telling Kennedy Agyapong about the incident.
He made it clear that the timing of the call refutes Wontumi’s assertions.
He approaches me and claims that I called Kennedy to notify him and that I want him to know that he either misheard what I was saying or didn’t understand what I was saying in English.
