The “halving” every four years is almost here.

That may sound like a scary movie title or some sort of paganism, but it’s simply a fairly mechanical process that’s hardcoded into the bitcoin design.

To put it simply, the halving is an automatic 50% decrease in the quantity of bitcoins that are available for purchase. Theoretically, this will increase the cryptocurrency’s value while containing inflation.

The World Cup of cryptocurrency for believers is halving. Every four years, it occurs, and feelings are strong.

“Assessing the final destination of Bitcoin following every halving is the ultimate pastime,” declared Antoni Trenchev, a co-founder of cryptocurrency lender Nexo. “The price of Bitcoin should double in no more than eight months, if the past halvings are any indication.”

Although it is a distinctly bullish viewpoint, bitcoin enthusiasts frequently hold it.
