Yaw Frimpong Addo, the deputy minister of food and agriculture, has encouraged young people and investors to become involved in farming since it has a lot of business potential.
Speaking at the formal inauguration of the Agrigate Farm Online platform, Mr. Frimpong bemoaned the lack of interest shown by young people in farming, pointing out that the government has invested a significant amount of money in creating profitable policies that serve as lures to draw them into the industry.
Mr. Frimpong went on to say that once the first phase of Planting for Food and Jobs was successfully implemented, a few major obstacles had to be overcome in order to move forward with phase two of the project.
“Everything you need to become a farmer will be provided to you as long as you have access to land registered in specific districts,” he continued.
