Actor Mark Margolis from Breaking Bad passes away

According to his relatives, Breaking Bad star Mark Margolis passed away at the age of 83.

Following a brief illness, Margolis passed away on Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, according to his son, actor and CEO of Knitting Factory Entertainment Morgan Margolis.

Margolis had appearances in more than 100 TV shows and movies, such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Scarface.

In 2012, Margolis was nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Hector “Tio” Salamanca in “Breaking Bad.” A fan favorite named Tio was a former cartel enforcer who used a wheelchair-mounted brass bell to communicate. In the prequel series “Better Call Saul,” he went on to play Tio when he was younger and not in a wheelchair.

The actor received his training from renowned acting coach Stella Adler in New York.
