Pat Thomas, an icon of Ghanaian highlife, has revealed the beginning of his musical career.
He claimed that his mother had informed the authorities that he was seeking a musical career.
He claimed he made the decision to drop out of Techiman High School in order to follow his musical aspirations.
He claimed that his mother, who was also a musician, was upset by his choice and called the police.
“My mum played the piano… She, however, opposed my performing music. She believed it to be a waste of time.In spite of the fact that she was also a singer, the police came to arrest me when she denounced me to them, according to Pat Thomas on Citi TV.
To commemorate 50 years of music, the performer organized the “Pat Thomas Highlife Night,” an evening of excellent musical performances.
The Accra International Conference Centre will host the celebration of Ghanaian highlife music and the great Pat Thomas on August 4, 2023.
