A potential flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, claims to be a millionaire with sufficient resources to support himself till his passing.
The unconventional Assin Central MP claimed he is extremely wealthy and will never be in need.
He spoke these words to party members and delegates in the Western Region.
He told the delegates not to be afraid of anyone in the NPP who is attempting to influence them to endorse a specific candidate.
He claims that regional executives are being beaten up. He claims that I have contributed 26 pickup trucks to this region and that out of the 10 finalists, only one has supplied even one car tire. Come on, you need to get up. Why do you feel fear?
He questioned, “Why are you afraid, those forcing you into a particular line, when only I, Kennedy Agyapong, can claim to care about the Western Region?”
“Today, the ground has been plowed, prepped, and planted with crops, and everyone is taking advantage of it. You try to be a fool and let’s end up in disagreement; then you can watch what happens.
“At this point in my life, I won’t be poor till I pass away. I will never be hungry because I have common sense. We have no fear of anyone in this area, therefore I won’t let anyone intimidate you,” he said.
11 NPP members have chosen their nominations for the party’s delegates conference, which is slated for August 2023.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Agriculture Minister Alan Kyerematen, former Trade and Industry Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh, former Railways and Development Minister Joe Ghartey, and former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko are among the NPP stalwarts running for flagbearer.
