Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, a representative for Ablekuma West, and Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, a representative for Tamale Central, got into an argument on the House floor over offensive remarks made against the Human S3xual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill (LGBT+).
On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, during the second reading of the bill in Parliament, the House overwhelmingly endorsed the report on the measure supported by Andy Appiah-Kubi, the MP for Asante Akim North. Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah allowed opportunity for members to offer input on the measure.
Ursula, who also serves as the Communications Minister, seemed to deviate from the broad condemnation of the act in her contribution to the LGBTQI law.
She responded to NDC MP Murtala, who had allegedly been heard whispering in the background that she practiced same-s3x relationships.
