In their road match against Bibiani Goldstars on Matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko was given two penalties.
Steven Mukwala gave Kotoko the lead, but the referee’s decision to award a highly disputed penalty caused them to lose their advantage.
After a cross was put into the Kotoko box and there was a scramble for the ball and a lost chance at goal for a Goldstars player, the referee pointed to the spot and whistled for the penalty.
Ibrahim Laar of Goldstars took the shot, but Frederick Asare made a good save to stop him, allowing Yahaya Adraman to score on the rebound.
