In January 2022, Captain Ibrahim Traoré led a group of troops to remove Roch Marc Kaboré, alleging insecurity among other reasons. Since then, he has served as the president of Burkina Faso. However, the doctor’s outspoken criticism suggests that he didn’t believe the president was doing enough to solve the issues that led to Kaboré’s removal from office.
