The Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of a Circuit Court judge who was fired following Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ undercover inquiry into the judiciary.
Twenty lower court judges were fired as a result of a Judicial Service process, including Judge Benjamin Yaw Osei, who was caught on camera by undercover investigators at Juabeng, his station at the time.
He was accused of freeing an accused individual after accepting money from them by Anas.
In contrast to the claims made in the video, the accused person had indeed been found guilty and sentenced to prison, according to his attorneys’ arguments before the three-member Court of Appeal panel.
On June 22, a panel led by Justice Senyo Dzamefe overturned a decision against the appellant from a previous high court.
