Lothar Matthaus, a former FIFA World Best player, is now a co-owner of Accra Lions FC in the Ghana Premier League.
The 62-year-old has now joined co-owners Oliver König and footballer Frank Acheampong as the club’s largest shareholder.
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Accra Lions revealed their newest stakeholder to the media at a brief occasion.
It’s a business model, of course. As evidenced by the national squad, Ghana has always had tremendous talent potential, according to Matthaus, as reported by Bild.
“We want to introduce young players who have already received proper training to Europe. That is why we are likewise making investments in this training facility.
Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, who was there, thanked Matthaus for his investment in the local team.
