Seven 2022 World Cup players who were in Hughton’s team for the games against Angola were left out for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Injuries sustained while playing for their respective clubs have forced Elisha Owusu, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Alidu Seidu, and Baba Rahman to leave the team, while Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Ibrabim Danlad, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have been left out owing to poor play.

This month, the Black Stars will play Angola twice, with the first leg taking place in Kumasi on March 23 and the second match taking place in Luanda four days later.
