Four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by the NNPC, Petrosen of Senegal, and the Mauritanian corporation of hydrocarbons to advance the implementation of the NMGP project.
The goal of the project is to utilize Nigeria’s natural gas. As a result, the parties involved in the collaboration would earn more money and the energy markets in both regions would become more diverse.
Other unintended benefits include increased energy production, more jobs, a more diverse network of gas export channels, a reduction in gas flaring, a higher standard of life, and others.
The project also aims to send 3 billion scfd of gas to Morocco from West African nations including Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, and Mauritania.
