Ghana’s Black Stars defeated South Korea 3-2 on November 28 at the Education City Stadium to win their opening match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In the latter moments of the fast-paced match, Otto Addo’s squad had to maintain their composure as the Koreans continued probing and applying pressure in search of an equaliser.
In the first half of the game, Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus both scored goals for Ghana.
Cho Gue-sung scored twice in the space of two minutes to give the Asians parity early in the second half, allowing Korea to regain control of the match.
In order to give Ghana the lead, Mohammed Kudus connected on a cutback from the left side of the Korean box.

It is the first time Ghana has scored three goals in a match at the FIFA World Cup. Kudus also becomes the first Ghanaian player to bag two goals in a World Cup game.
