He claims that while running for office, the president displayed humility in order to be perceived as a man of the people, but now that he has been elected president of Ghana, he is acting more like a ‘arrogant’ monarch.

The former Abura Asebu Kwamankese Parliamentary candidate said on the November 1 episode of Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme that the president’s decision to dedicate a vehicle to carrying an empty chair to follow him everywhere he goes in the nation indicates a waste of scarce resources, especially at a time when the country is going through economic hardship.

“…don’t we all see the president carries a chair around? Did he ever say he will carry a special chair when he was campaigning and eating yor ker gari [beans, plantain, and gari] and ampesi in their homes? So, it was what they call “okraman ahobrasie,” i.e., a humility of a dog. He was lying to the people he went to eat yor

“It is haughty and a waste of tax dollars. When President Mahama served in that capacity, did he not bring chairs to citizens’ studios and chiefs’ palaces? According to our position, and I’m stating this, the president of this country is required to use tax dollars to go out and get a special chair and transport it around; we’ve seen images of the truck that transports that chair. Felix Kwakye Ofosu added, “They have a converted truck with material covering it in which they put that chair.

“The president is not the monarch, and this is not the stool at Kyebi,” he continued. He is not eligible to rule Ghana as Okyenhene. He ought to become the Okyenhene if he wants to rule.

“As president, you have a responsibility to act rationally and sensibly to let a nation that is suffering to have a president with such extravagant tastes.
